Fishing Boats
We have a 16.5’ Smoker Craft shallow V fishing boat with a 25hp Mercury motor at our resort. It features a live well, fish finder, night navigation lights, and a 12-volt auxiliary outlet for charging cell phones or other devices. This boat is available for daily and weekly rentals.

Pontoon Boat
Our 21-foot Crest pontoon boat is available for daily and weekly rental for our resort guests. This boat has a quiet 4-stroke motor so your family or fishing outing will be reliable, safe, and peaceful. Our Pontoon boat is available for daily and weekly rentals.

Row Boats, Paddle Boats, and Kayaks
We have one twelve-foot aluminum row boat, two ten-foot kayaks, and one paddle boat that are all available to our guests at no charge.

Bring Your Own Boat
We are located 1/4 mile from the DNR ramp on East Houghton Lake Drive so it's easy to put your boat in the water there and tie it up on one of our mooring buoys.
Fishing
Sunset Resort is located right on Houghton Lake which offers a top-notch fishery for many species during the summer and winter months. In Houghton Lake, you will find walleye, northern pike, small and largemouth bass, bluegill, perch, crappie, and several other species. We are happy to share our fishing spots with our guests.

Sunset Resort is a fantastic place to enjoy the winter months. Stay with us while you enjoy the trails at Cross Country Ski Headquarters – the premier nordic skiing destination in Northern Michigan. You can rent skis or snow shoes with miles of trails from the headquarters. As a lodging partner, you can receive 15% off your stay with Sunset Resort and 50% off your trail pass from the headquarters. The headquarters has fun events most weekends throughout the winter.
