Sunset
Resort is a gem among the many resorts in Houghton Lake.
The cozy cottages and lodge have recently undergone
major renovations. In addition to the beautiful
clean cabins, the resort now offers 6 lodge guest rooms, a new
public game room and a public sun porch that all guests enjoy.
Along
with improvements in the lodging;
the landscaping is beautiful with a child’s play area,
horse shoe, tether ball, basketball, and volley ball
area. The
blacktop parking area and walkways are lighted,
providing security and an ideal facility for strollers,
roller blades, riding toys, and wheel chairs.
Sunset
Resort is now providing wireless internet throughout the
property.
Located right on the shores of Houghton Lake, no doubt some water action
is in your future. Take
advantage of one of the available rowboats, and enjoy
some fishing, have
a paddle boat ride along the shoreline, go for a sail, or rent the
pontoon boat for a fun day on the lake. A
seawall offers easy access to the lake, which has a
safe, gradual incline making it good for swimming.
At
night, retreat to quiet serenity and good company with a
bonfire in the large fire pit on the
shores of Michigan's largest inland lake or relax in a variety of bench swings and
beach-side chairs.
The
teens will enjoy the new game room with several video
games, dart board, foosball, air hockey, television and
more.
For
the guest that is staying for a longer visit, there is a
modern and very clean coin operated laundry at the
resort.
Houghton
Lake
has long been one of
Michigan’s most popular vacation spots with
outstanding fishing and boating and Sunset Resort has
made this traditional cottage resort a favorite vacation
destination in Houghton
Lake.
