Boats at the Sunset Resort An anchor mooring is provided with each cabin so that you may leave your own boat in the water out in front of the resort. The state boat launch is less than 1/4 mile from the resort and provides easy access to launch your boat or personal watercraft.
Paddle Boats: Two paddle boats, with canopy, are available for guests at no charge. Life preservers are available for use.
Fishing Boats: Enjoy Houghton Lake's terrific walleye, perch, bass, pike, and bluegill fishing. Three 12-foot fishing boats are available for guests at no charge. Life preservers, oars, and anchors are provided.
Motor for use with the fishing boats are available for hourly or daily rental.
Rates Hourly $15 Daily $60 Plus gas, oil and applicable taxes.
Must be 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license to operate motor vehicles.
Pontoon Boat: Relax and enjoy Michigan's largest inland lake on Sunset Resort's pontoon boat, available for daily and weekly rentals. The boat has a maximum capacity 2035 lbs, and is equipped with a 40 hp outboard. If the sun gets too hot, the boat has a large canopy. It is best to reserve the boat when you make your reservations as demand for this boat is high. A non-refundable deposit of $30/day is required when reserving the pontoon boat.
Rates 1/2 Day $100 Daily $170 4 Day $500 Weekly $700 Plus gas, oil and applicable taxes.
